Mobile Car Detailing in The Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains sits at the far edge of our map: from North York it is one of the longest drives we make, out in our Georgian Bay band. The booking form adds a flat travel and fuel fee for it, priced from the address you enter, charged once per visit and paid with your deposit, so the total on screen already includes it before you commit.

The Work Comes to the Chalet, the Farm Lane or the Front Drive

We come up through Collingwood on Highway 26 and set up beside your vehicle wherever it is parked: a chalet off Grey Road 19, a house on an orchard road outside Clarksburg, a home in Lora Bay. The car never leaves your property. Appointments run 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Because the drive is long, a quick wash on its own is a lot of road for a small job. A full detail, a correction, a coating, or two vehicles in the same visit makes far better use of the trip, and the form discounts a second vehicle added to the booking.

Thornbury, Clarksburg, Craigleith and the Rest of the Town

The town was formed in 1998 by joining the old Town of Thornbury with the Township of Collingwood, so one Grey County municipality takes in a harbour town, a resort village, orchard country and a long stretch of the Niagara Escarpment. Most of it sits inside our Georgian Bay band on one flat travel and fuel fee; the one exception is at the end of this section.

Thornbury. The main centre sits where the Beaver River empties into Nottawasaga Bay. Bruce Street runs a few short blocks from the highway down to Thornbury Harbour, the fishway climbs the dam beside the Highway 26 bridge, and the Georgian Trail, the old rail line between Collingwood and Meaford, crosses through. The harbour once shipped the area's apples out by water. If your driveway there is short, tight to a fence or shared, mention it when you book so the setup is planned around it.

Lora Bay. A few minutes west of Thornbury, this golf course community overlooks Georgian Bay and mixes custom-built houses with condominium townhouse villas. A detached house has its own driveway; a villa on shared parking is worth clearing with the condominium first.

Clarksburg. Just south of Thornbury on the Beaver River, the village nicknamed Artsburg has galleries, theatre and Victorian houses, with Grey Road 13 leading on into the Beaver Valley.

Craigleith and Blue Mountain Village. Craigleith strings along Highway 26 toward Collingwood: chalets near the private ski clubs, houses along the water, and the shale shoreline of Craigleith Provincial Park. Inland, the resort communities at the foot of the escarpment around Blue Mountain Village are chalets, mountain homes and condominium complexes, and Castle Glen Estates sits above them on top of the escarpment, off Grey Road 19.

The rural communities. Heathcote is a small hamlet on the Beaver River, along Grey Road 13; Ravenna sits at Grey Road 2 and Grey Road 119, south of Thornbury; Camperdown, Loree, Victoria Corners and Banks sit on the farmland and escarpment slopes inland; and Christie Beach is out on the shore past Lora Bay. On acreage, park the car near whichever building has the outdoor tap and the outlet.

One limit to know about: our Georgian Bay band stops short of the southern end of the town, up on the escarpment around Red Wing, Duncan, Gibraltar and Kolapore. An address there does not get an online total; the booking form asks for a quote instead.

How the Total Is Built Before You Pay

The booking form adds it up in a fixed order: the package, the travel and fuel fee for your address, any add-ons, then HST, and it shows one figure before you commit. The deposit comes out of that figure rather than sitting on top of it. Express, Executive and The Ultimate carry a flat deposit; correction, coating, boat and RV jobs carry a 50% deposit. The travel and fuel fee is paid along with it.

The remainder is settled on the day, once the work is finished. Cash, Interac e-Transfer and debit cost nothing extra; a credit card adds a 2.4% surcharge. Full terms are on the payment policy page.

Correction and Coating for Shoreline Winters

Cars here spend the winter on Highway 26 and the roads up to the ski hills in salt and slush, then the summer under strong sun off the water. Paint goes flat and picks up fine swirls from every wash. Correction takes those defects out of the clear coat; a ceramic coating over the corrected finish gives salt film and road grime less to cling to, so the next rinse does more of the work.

Correction and coating on a larger vehicle carry a size surcharge, which the booking page calculates before you pay.

Boats Off the Bay, RVs and Motorcycles

Thornbury Harbour has a full-service marina, and boats on the bay come out of the water for the winter. Out of the water is the only place we work on them: on the trailer or up on blocks, never at a dock and never afloat. Give us the length, the condition, and whether you want the interior, the exterior or both, and we quote it. Cabins, kitchenettes and washrooms are not included. A boat on stands in a storage yard needs a yard that allows outside work, with a tap and an outlet in reach.

RVs are exterior only, priced per foot with a 20-foot minimum, and book online. From the top tier down: RV Professional Ceramic Coating, RV Signature Polish & Protect, RV Executive Detail & Protect and RV Express Exterior.

Motorcycles are quoted one bike at a time. Headlight restoration books online for one light, both, or all of them, and as sanding and polishing it is the one service that needs no water or power.

Water, Power and Room on the Day

Two things must be at the address: an outside tap that runs and an electrical outlet that works, each no further than about 75 feet from where the vehicle will sit. You confirm both at booking; we bring the rest.

If the outdoor tap at a chalet or seasonal home was shut off for the cold months, turn it back on before the visit. Condominium complexes around Blue Mountain Village may restrict washing in shared lots, so ask management first. Wherever the car is parked, leave room to open every door.
