Cambridge is a long run for us, west along the 401 from North York, and it sits in one of the furthest travel bands we publish. So every Cambridge booking carries a flat travel and fuel fee, charged once for the visit. The booking form works it out from your address and shows it before you pay, it is taken together with your deposit, and nothing about the trip is left to settle when we arrive.
We Bring the Setup to Your Cambridge Address
A Cambridge detail never involves a trip to a bay or an afternoon in a waiting room. You give us an address — a house in Hespeler, a townhouse in Preston, a semi in East Galt — and the work happens right there, beside the vehicle, while your day carries on indoors.
Because the drive out is long, we would rather be plain about what makes it worthwhile: a full detail, a paint correction, a ceramic coating, or two vehicles in the same visit. A quick exterior on its own can still be booked; it simply carries the same travel and fuel fee as a far bigger job.
Galt, Preston, Hespeler, Blair and the Streets Between
Cambridge was put together in 1973 from Galt, Preston, Hespeler and the settlement of Blair, and each still parks its cars a little differently. We work across all of it, and the whole city is priced the same way on the booking form.
Downtown Galt and the Gaslight District. Galt's core is old stone buildings beside the Grand. Houses near it often sit on narrow lots with short or shared driveways, and the condo towers at the Gaslight District mean parking garages and visitor spots, so describe the parking when you book.
West Galt and Dickson Hill. On the west bank, the Dickson Hill heritage district, also known as Old West Galt, is a neighbourhood of stately homes from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
East Galt and North Galt. East Galt lies across the river from it. Further north, Clemens Mill and Saginaw are newer suburban subdivisions, the kind of streets where a driveway and a garage outlet are usually a given, with Shade's Mills Conservation Area and its reservoir nearby.
Preston. Preston sits on the western side of the city where the Speed River runs into the Grand. King Street is its main street, Riverside Park — the city's largest community park — marks the north end of the old downtown, and Preston Heights is among the residential areas around it.
Hespeler. Hespeler Village grew up along the Speed River in the city's northeast corner, close to the Franklin and Townline Road exits on the 401. Forbes Park sits near its old downtown, with the Silver Heights subdivision close by.
Blair. West of Preston on the Grand, Blair keeps buildings from the 1820s and a more rural feel, with bigger lots. The tap may be at the house and the car at the end of a long drive, so measure before booking.
How the Cambridge Total Comes Together
The booking form builds one figure from four parts: the package for your vehicle, the Cambridge travel and fuel fee, any add-ons, and HST. The deposit is taken at booking and comes off that total rather than sitting on top of it — a flat amount on an Express, an Executive or The Ultimate, and half the job on paint correction, ceramic coating, boat and RV work. The travel and fuel fee is collected with it.
The rest is paid on the day, once the work is finished. Cash, Interac e-Transfer and debit cost nothing extra; a credit card adds 2.4%, shown before you commit. Put a second vehicle into the same visit and the form shows the second-vehicle discount where it applies, the simplest way to get more out of one long trip. Full terms are on our payment policy page.

Correction and Coating for Cars That Live on the 401
A car that commutes on the 401 every day collects the familiar Ontario damage: salt and brine caked into the lower panels all winter, fine scratches from automatic washes, and a clear coat flattened by summer sun. Parking under mature trees near the rivers adds sap to the list. Correction takes the swirls out of the paint itself; a coating then gives that finish a slicker surface, so salt and grime let go more easily at the next wash.
Brings gloss back to paint that has gone tired and flat but is not actually scratched.
One cutting and finishing pass for a daily driver's swirls. Each stage is explained on the paint correction page.
A compound stage, then a polish, for defects one pass will not reach.
Begins, like every tier, with an Executive Exterior and a 1-step paint correction and polish, so nothing gets sealed in.
For a vehicle you intend to keep through several more Cambridge winters.
The longest-rated tier. The ceramic coating page sets all three side by side.
Larger vehicles carry a size surcharge on correction and coating, calculated on the booking form before you pay.
Boats, RVs and Motorcycles Around the Grand
If your boat spends summer on Lake Erie, Georgian Bay or a cottage lake and the off-season on a trailer beside your Cambridge house, that trailer is where we detail it — or on blocks in the yard. We never work on a boat that is docked or still in the water. Boats are quoted on size and condition, for the interior, the exterior or both; washrooms, kitchenettes and cabins sit outside the job.
RVs book online, priced by the foot with a 20-foot minimum, and the work is exterior only.
The entry tier, for a rig that mostly needs the road washed off it.
A deeper exterior clean finished with protection.
Machine polishing for a faded, chalky finish, then protection over it.
The corrected finish sealed under a professional coating.
Motorcycles are quoted one at a time. Headlight restoration books straight through the form for one light, both, or all of them.
Water, Power and Room on the Day
Two things have to be at the address: an outdoor tap with running water and a live electrical outlet, each reachable within roughly 75 feet of where the vehicle will sit. You confirm both while booking, and everything else comes with us. Headlight restoration, being sanding and polishing only, needs neither.
We also need room to swing every door open and walk a polisher around each panel. A double driveway in Clemens Mill or Hespeler is easy; a narrow lot near downtown Galt may mean moving the second car onto the street first. In a condo, clear the spot with management and check that a tap and outlet can actually be reached from it.
Cambridge Detailing Questions
What does the drive to Cambridge add to my booking?
One flat travel and fuel fee for the visit. Cambridge is among the longest trips we make; the booking form prices the fee from your address, shows it before you pay, and collects it with your deposit.
Is the travel fee charged per vehicle?
No, it covers the visit. A second vehicle in the same appointment adds no second travel fee, and the form shows any second-vehicle discount that applies.
Which kind of job makes the most sense for a Cambridge visit?
A bigger one: a full detail, The Ultimate, paint correction, a ceramic coating, or two vehicles at once. Smaller jobs carry the same travel and fuel fee, so larger work gives you more for the trip.
Can you detail my car at a condo in downtown Galt?
Yes, if the building allows it and a working tap and outlet sit within about 75 feet of the spot. Many underground garages have neither, so check first.
What comes with a ceramic coating in Cambridge?
Every tier — 3, 5 or 8 years — starts with an Executive Exterior and a 1-step paint correction and polish. Larger vehicles carry a size surcharge, shown on the booking form before you pay.
Will you detail my boat at a marina or on the water?
No. Boat work is done on land only, on the trailer or on blocks, and quoted on size and condition.
What hours can I book in Cambridge?
Appointments run from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. The booking form shows which dates and times are open.
