Fergus is one of the longest drives we make from North York, in one of the furthest travel bands we publish. It costs you one flat travel and fuel fee per visit, not per car or per hour. The booking form prices it from your street address, shows it beside the package before you commit, and collects it with your deposit, so the trip itself is never added on once we are parked in your driveway.
A Detailer Who Drives to Fergus, Not a Shop You Drive To
There is no Top Drive bay in Centre Wellington. The work happens where your vehicle already sits: a farmhouse lane off a concession road, a townhouse pad in a new subdivision, or the space behind an old stone house near St. Andrew Street. The van brings the extractor, steamer, polishers and foam equipment; you hand over the keys and carry on with your day.
Since the run up from Toronto is long, a Fergus visit pays off best on a bigger job — a full detail, a correction, a coating, or two vehicles back to back, such as a commuter car and a farm truck. A second vehicle in the same appointment is discounted, and the form shows the reduction when you add it.
Fergus Streets, Subdivisions and Hamlets on Our Route
Across Fergus, what changes from one address to the next is mostly the parking.
Downtown and the river streets. The historic core follows St. Andrew Street, parallel to the Grand River, with Highway 6 crossing on the St. David Street bridge and the Tower Street bridge looking down into the gorge. Many stone buildings here date from the 1800s, built long before anyone planned for two cars, so parking can mean a narrow side drive or a spot off a rear lane. Tell us where the car is kept and which side the tap is on.
The north end and Storybrook. Northwest Fergus, around Colborne Street and Beatty Line, is where Storybrook is adding single-detached houses and townhouses. On a house that has only just closed, check before booking that the outside tap is connected and the exterior outlet is live.
The south end. Off Tower Street South, newer streets such as McQueen Boulevard and Aberdeen Street mix townhouses with detached homes, and the township’s South Fergus Secondary Plan, adopted in 2024, carries growth on from the edge of town down to 2nd Line, either side of Highway 6.
Belsyde Avenue and Garafraxa Street East. Belsyde carries Wellington Road 18 and Garafraxa Street East carries Wellington Road 19, both heading east, the second toward Belwood. Our mapped travel zones end not far past the east edge of town, so a country address out along either road, or past the Shand Dam toward Belwood and the lake, can fall outside them. That is not a no: send us the address and we will tell you straight whether the trip works.
Ennotville, Inverhaugh, Ponsonby and the open township. Centre Wellington is largely agricultural, and the township maintains hundreds of lane-kilometres of gravel road, treated with a dust suppressant from around May. Out there, space is never short but the walk to an outlet can be, and dust off a gravel lane settles on doors and rocker panels; whatever bonds there past an ordinary wash is what the decontamination and clay bar in the Executive tier are for.
Working Out the Price of a Fergus Visit
The form adds four things in order: the package, the travel and fuel fee for your address, any add-ons, and HST. A deposit holds the date and comes off that sum rather than on top of it — a fixed figure on an Express, an Executive or The Ultimate, and half up front on paint correction, ceramic coating, boat and RV work. The travel and fuel fee is collected with it.
The remainder is paid on the day once the work is finished. Cash, Interac e-Transfer and debit add nothing; a credit card adds 2.4%, displayed before you pay. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are on the payment policy page.
Packages You Can Book for a Fergus Address
Express and Executive each come as exterior only, interior only or both, and The Ultimate sits above them. After a Wellington County winter, Executive is the one to look at: it adds paint decontamination and a clay bar outside, and salt stain removal on the carpets inside.
Executive Full Detail
The Ultimate Package
Ultimate + Paint Polish & Buff
Express Full Detail
Also on the form: Express Exterior, Express Interior, Executive Exterior and Executive Interior. Inclusions are listed on the services page, and the auto detailing page walks through a mobile detail from first rinse to final wipe.
Correction and Coatings for Paint That Sees Gravel and Salt
Roads here are salted all winter, gravel lanes throw grit at the lower panels from spring on, and commuting on Highway 6 adds road film and stone chips. Low autumn sun then shows every swirl left by automatic washes and dry-wiped dust. Correction levels the clear coat so those marks stop catching the light; a coating then gives salt and dust a slicker surface to let go of at the next wash.
For paint that looks flat without actually being scratched.
One machine stage for light swirling on a family vehicle. The paint correction page explains each level.
Compound, then polish, for deeper marring after several winters.
Like every coating tier, it starts with an Executive Exterior and a 1-step correction and polish, so no swirls get sealed in.
The same preparation under a longer-lasting layer.
The longest-rated of the three; see the ceramic coating page.
Pickups, large SUVs and minivans carry a size surcharge on correction and coating, worked out from your vehicle before you pay.
Belwood Lake Boats, Trailered Toys and RVs
Belwood Lake, the 12-kilometre reservoir the Shand Dam created on the Grand in 1942, sits just upstream of town, with two concrete launches, power boating and a sailing club. The conservation area’s full-service season runs May 1 to October 15, so book boat work before launch or after haul-out, with the boat on its trailer at your Fergus address. We only work on a hull that is out of the water, on its trailer or up on blocks — never at a dock or in a slip. Boats are quoted on size and condition, for the interior, exterior or both; washrooms, kitchenettes and cabins are not included.
RVs are exterior only, booked online and priced per foot with a 20-foot minimum.
Road film, black streaks and bugs off after a trip or before storage.
Decontamination and a sealant layered over that wash.
Machine polishing for chalky, faded fibreglass, then long-life protection.
A corrected finish under a coating, for a rig parked in the sun all summer.
Motorcycles are quoted one at a time. Headlight restoration books straight through the form for one light, a pair or every light, and needs no water or power because it is sanding and polishing.
Getting the Property Ready Before We Arrive
Within roughly 75 feet of where the vehicle will sit we need an outside tap that runs and an electrical outlet that works, and the form asks you to confirm both so a long drive does not end at a dry hose bib. On older downtown houses the tap may be round the far side; on a farm the nearest outlet may be in the drive shed. Either is fine if it reaches.
Leave room to swing every door wide and walk a polisher around the car. At a townhouse pad or apartment building, clear water and power with management first. On a gravel lane, park on the firmest, flattest patch you have.
Fergus Detailing FAQ
How far is Fergus for you, and how does that show up in the price?
It is one of our longest trips, in one of the furthest published travel bands. One travel and fuel fee per visit covers it, priced from your address and collected with the deposit.
Do you come out to the hamlets and farms around Fergus?
The fee is set by your exact address, not the town name, so enter yours in the booking form to see it. The farmland south of town toward Ennotville, Inverhaugh and Ponsonby sits inside our mapped zones; past the Shand Dam toward Belwood, an address can fall outside them, and then a call or email gets you a straight answer.
Is a small job worth booking this far out?
Any package can be booked. The fee stays the same whatever you choose, so it weighs more on a small job, and the trip earns its keep on a full detail, a correction, a coating or two vehicles at once.
What do I need to have ready for a mobile detail in Fergus?
A working outdoor tap and a live outlet, each within about 75 feet of the parked vehicle, confirmed when you book. Headlight restoration needs neither.
Can you detail my boat while it is at the lake?
Not in the water or at a dock. Boats are detailed on land only, on the trailer or on blocks, and quoted on size and condition.
When is the balance due, and how can I pay it?
On the day, once the work is finished, with the deposit already taken off. Cash, Interac e-Transfer and debit carry no extra charge; a credit card adds 2.4%.
